Natascha Hodosi

Head of Molecular Biology Department

Natascha holds a degree in Molecular Biology, completed in 2010, with a focus on developing quantitative PCR assays for viral detection, used as QC release tests in biopharmaceutical production. After her thesis, she joined ViruSure as a GLP Study Director for virus clearance studies, where she introduced and implemented qPCR testing, enhancing the company´s testing capabilities.

Since 2016, Natascha has led the PCR team, playing a key role in broadening the department´s testing portfolio. Under her leadership, the team integrated advanced techniques such as Sanger sequencing, dPCR, and NGS, driving the continuous evolution of the molecular biology department.

With her extensive experience and expertise, Natascha offers a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in advancing molecular biology techniques. Her deep understanding ensures clients receive expert support and innovative solutions, tailored to the specific needs of their biopharmaceutical projects.

Hans-Peter Fasching

Deputy Head of Molecular Biology Department

Hans-Peter holds a bachelor´s degree in Genetics and Microbiology, and a master´s degree in Molecular Biology in 2020 from the University of Vienna. His professional career at ViruSure started with an internship, where he contributed to the development and establishment of qPCR assays. Following the internship, Hans-Peter continued working at ViruSure in 2019 while completing his master´s thesis, which focused on developing insect qPCR assays and conducting virus induction assays in insect cell lines. During this time, he was also introduced to Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.
Alongside his studies, Hans-Peter took on the role of scientific assistant in the PCR group, participating in routine test sample analyses and development of new qPCR assays. His dedication and skill led him to progress through various roles, from scientific assistant to assay coordinator, and later to study director. Currently, he serves as the deputy head of the molecular biology group. Throughout his career, Hans-Peter has been involved in establishing Sanger sequencing services and is now primarily focusing on implementing NGS methodologies for the safety testing of biopharmaceutical products at ViruSure.
